A life given to pirivena education
Born on 14 November 1976, Venerable Kosgoda Wimalawansa Tissa Thero resides at Ambarukkharama Mulamaha Viharaya, Welitara, Balapitiya, and serves the Pirivena Division of the Ministry of Education at Isurupaya, Battaramulla.
His path began in 2001 within the Piriven Teaching Service, and grew through the roles of Parivenadhipathi, Deputy Parivenadhipathi, and Teacher Advisor, before moving into national administration as Gallery District Pirivena Education Coordinating Officer and, since 2020, Assistant Director of Education (Piriven).
Alongside administration, he has served as a member of the Ministry's Pali Textbook Writing Board, an examiner for pirivena and ancient-language examinations, and a lecturer at teacher training institutes — carrying scholarship into both policy and the classroom.

2001 — 2018
Piriven Teaching Service
Began a teaching career within Sri Lanka's pirivena (monastic) education system, later serving as Teacher Advisor (Piriven) from 2007 to 2018.

Parivenadhipathi & Deputy Parivenadhipathi
Served as Principal (Parivenadhipathi) at Mara/ Sri Wimalajothi Maha Pirivena and Deputy Parivenadhipathi at Ga/ Sugathasasanodaya Maha Pirivena, overseeing administrative and educational functions.
2018 — 2020
Gallery District Pirivena Education Coordinating Officer
Coordinated pirivena education across the district division, while also serving as Additional Headmaster of Piriven Final Examinations (2018-2019).

Assistant Director of Education (Piriven)
National-level administration of pirivena education at the Ministry of Education, Isurupaya, Battaramulla — the current chapter of an evolving career.
